Medical Advisor

Dr. Jimmy K. S. Beng graduated from the University of Singapore in 1970. After graduation, he served as Medical Officer in the Singapore Armed Forces. In 1972, he was appointed Trainee in Surgery in the University Department of Surgery, Singapore. He obtained his fellowships from Singapore, Glasgow and Edinburgh in 1974 and was appointed Lecturer in the Department of Surgery of the University. In 1975, he was awarded the Liew Weng Chee Scholarship by the University Department of Surgery for urology training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. Upon his return, he was involved in all aspects of urological work in the Department and published several papers on Transurethral Surgery. In 1978, he was promoted to Senior Lecturer in the Department. Soon after, he resigned to go into private practice.

He was President of Singapore Urological Associate in 1990 – 1992. He was also Chairman of the 10th World Congress on Endourology and Extracorporeal Shockwave Lithotripsy organized at the Raffles City Convention Centre in September 1992. This successful Congress attracted over 800 international participants. He is an Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Urology and Nephrology in London during the World Congress after arranging for a Memorandum of Understanding with the Institute.

Dr Beng has been actively pursuing the field of male erectile dysfunction for over a period of 2 decades. He was involved in the treatment of ED in the “early days” by injections and penile implants. Following the successful introduction of oral ED drugs, Dr Beng runs a large clinic counseling and treating patients with ED. He has been involved with ‘holistic’ and wellness medicine since 2000 and has attended and participated in many forums and seminars involving complementary medicine, total well-being and prevention of chronic and degenerative diseases of the ageing. The exposure to various forms of alternative medicine has resulted to Dr Beng’s interest in various forms of effective alternative therapies and these include a special interest in herbal “remedies” for sexual problems and inadequacies.

Dr Beng has been a regular blood donor, having on record over 50 donations. He has memberships to Professional bodies in Australia and the U.S.A. He is also a keen photographer and an avid golfer. Hobbies include classical music, aquarium fish collection and fishing.

He is married with three grown up children, a doctor/MBA post graduate son, a lawyer and an economist now doing an MBA in Chicago. His business interest includes real estate and property investments and has been involved in various medical joint ventures in medical technology.
